Searching for Suppliers

This article explains how Buyers can view, browse, and search for Suppliers on the Supplier Lists they have access to. Use this feature to find registered Suppliers and view their details.

Prerequisites

You must have Buyer rights to access the Supplier Lists features.

Steps

Buyers can use the options under the Supplier Lists heading on their homepage to view, browse, and search for Suppliers.

1. View Suppliers on a List

  1. Under the Supplier Lists heading, select the type of list you want to view (e.g., 'Internal Organisation lists') or select All lists.
  2. Review the list of Supplier Lists you have access to, separated by the managing organisation.
  3. Optional: Click the list name to view the List Details pop-up window, which includes the list type, description, List Owner, and list categories.

    Note: The List Owner is the Administrator who should be contacted for specific list questions.

  4. Click the blue numbered button under the user icon (the first column on the right) to see the full list of registered Suppliers.

  5. Click on the business name of a supplier to view their Supplier details, including business and contact details, compliance statuses, and selected categories.

  6. Optional: Click the blue numbered button under the documents icon (the second column on the right) to view any documents attached to the list (e.g., templates, contract documents).

Note: If your enterprise uses the Public Marketplace lists, you will not see the list of registered Suppliers in this section, as they are unverified. You can use the Browse Suppliers by Category feature instead.

2. Browse Suppliers by Category

This feature allows you to find Suppliers by selecting specific categories and lists.

  1. Under the Supplier Lists heading, select the Browse suppliers by category option.
  2. Select the type of Supplier Lists to use: Internal Supplier Lists, External Supplier Lists, or Local Suppliers on the Public Marketplace lists.

    • Note: You can only browse one type of list at a time.
  3. Select the Categories you want to browse from the available options, and then click Continue.

    • Tip: Use the search box to look for keywords.
  4. Select the Supplier Lists you want to browse from the available options, and then click Continue.

  5. You will be shown a list of Suppliers matching your category and list selections.
  6. Click on the business name of a supplier to view their Supplier details.
    • Optional: You can sort the results alphabetically or by distance from your set location.

3. Search for a Supplier

This feature allows you to search for Suppliers registered on your accessible lists by name or contact details.

  1. Under the Supplier Lists heading, select the Search for a Supplier option.

  2. Choose whether to search by Business or Person.
  3. Enter a search term and click the Search button.

  4. The results will show any matching Suppliers registered on any list you have access to.
  5. Click on the business name of a supplier to view their Supplier details.

Results / Validation

After following the steps, you will see a list of Suppliers that match your criteria, and you will be able to view their specific details (e.g., contact info, compliance status) on the selected list.

Troubleshooting

Issue Fix
No results found when searching for a Supplier. The Supplier may still have an account in the system but is not registered on any Supplier Lists that you can access. Contact the List Owners of the Supplier Lists you use to ask about new registrations.
