Registering as a Supplier (Marketplace & Preferred Supplier Lists)

  • Updated

This article explains the three ways a supplier can start the registration process to set up a VendorPanel - a Unimarket Company account by registering on a Supplier List. This is the first step for Suppliers who wish to respond to requests for quotes and tenders.

Prerequisites

  • The supplier must have a valid email address.
  • If the supplier already has a VendorPanel - a Unimarket Company account, they should check the article: Suppliers Registering on Additional Lists.

Steps to Register on a Supplier List

There are three main ways a supplier can register onto a list:

1. Self-registering on the Public Marketplace Lists

The Public Marketplace consists of Supplier Lists that are owned and managed by VendorPanel - a Unimarket Company and are open to the public.

  1. Check for existing profiles within their organisation before registering to prevent duplicate profiles for their company.
  2. Go to the  Marketplace registration link.
  3. Select the relevant list and categories they wish to be listed under.
  4. Fill out their details and request to register.
  5. Check their email for a confirmation email with a link to setup their account.
  6. Click the link and follow the prompts to register their account and profile.

2. Registering on a Preferred Supplier List

Preferred Supplier Lists are owned and managed by an organisation (government or corporate) that uses VendorPanel - a Unimarket Company. These lists are generally invitation-only unless they have a public self-registration link.

  1. Suppliers can contact potential clients (like local councils) and ask if they run any Supplier Lists using VendorPanel - a Unimarket Company that they can register on.
  2. Consider contacting the Local Government Association (LGA) for the state(s) they operate in, as these LGAs run shared Supplier Lists. Examples include:
    • New South Wales's Local Government Procurement (LGP).
    • Queensland's Local Buy (also used by Northern Territory councils).
    • South Australia's LGA Procurement.
    • Victoria's Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV).
    • Western Australia's WALGA.
  3. Once invited, check their email for a VendorPanel - a Unimarket Company notification with a link to set up their account.

3. Registering as a Colleague to an Existing User

If their company already have an existing account on a list, the person who manages that profile (the Vendor Admin) can invite them to register as a 'Colleague'.

  1. Ask their company's Vendor Admin (the primary contact for the list registration) to send them an invitation.
  2. If the Panel Administrator manages the list, they can also send the invite on the Vendor Admin's behalf (see: Inviting a Colleague to a Supplier Profile on behalf of a Vendor Admin).
  3. Check their email for an invitation link to set up their account or register as a colleague within their existing account.

Results / Validation

After completing the process for any of the above options, they will have a registered Supplier profile linked to the relevant list(s).

Troubleshooting

  • Invitation sent to the wrong email address: If they have an existing account but the invitation was sent to a different email address, contact the ‘list owner’ (the organisation running the list) and ask them to resend the invitation to the correct address.
  • Preventing duplicate profiles: Before registering on the Public Marketplace, ensure no one else in their organisation already holds a profile on the list.
