Evaluation Method for Supplier Responses

  • Updated

This article explains how to choose and change the evaluation method for supplier responses once your Request has closed.

Prerequisites

  • Audience: Buyer who manages the Request.

  • Intent: Select the appropriate method to evaluate supplier responses after a Request closes.

  • Scope: Selecting and changing the evaluation method.

  • The Request must be closed.

  • You must unlock the Responses to access evaluation methods.

    • Note: Unlocking responses prevents further changes, including re-opening the Request.

  • Your available evaluation methods depend on your organisation's settings.

Steps: Choose an Evaluation Method

You can select an evaluation method in two places:

1. During Request Creation

  • Navigate to the final step of the Request Wizard, titled 'Save & Post'.

  • Use the menu to choose one of the available options.

  • Select an option before posting the Request.

Note: You aren't locked into this initial choice. You can change the evaluation method after the Request has closed and responses have been unlocked.

2. Through the Additional Options Menu (After Closing)

  • Find your Request and click the three vertical dots (additional options menu).

  • Select 'Change this method'.

  • Select the evaluation method you wish to use.

  • Save your choice.

Available Evaluation Methods

Once you've unlocked the responses, you can choose from these evaluation methods:

  • Quick Select

    • Allows Buyers to simply 'Select' or 'Decline' each Supplier response.

    • Appropriate for evaluations undertaken offline or external to VendorPanel - Unimarket Company.

  • Evaluation Matrix

    • Uses a matrix to assess supplier's responses against a set of criteria.

    • The Buyer creates criteria and weighting to aid the evaluation.

    • Cost can be given an automatic score.

  • Multi-Party Evaluation (MPE)

    • Appropriate for evaluations involving multiple Evaluators.

    • The Buyer configures criteria and then invites Evaluators to review responses.

    • Evaluators can be grouped into 'teams' and do not need to be VendorPanel users.

  • Advanced Evaluations

    • A highly flexible tool used for Multi-Party Evaluations.

    • Includes a rich set of features like criteria management, individual and consensus scoring, and external evaluator invitations.

Limits & Notes

  • For all four methods, you can attach private notes, documents, and feedback for suppliers to each decision.

  • It's good practice to provide a reason for your decision.

  • You can select multiple successful suppliers or choose to decline all responses.
