Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Credentials: Overview

  • Updated

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Credentials is a feature in Go to Market that displays a supplier's social impact credentials using publicly available data. This makes it simpler for buyers to find and select suppliers that align with their organisation's supplier selection process or social responsibility goals.

Powered by givvable: Credential data is sourced and verified by givvable, Unimarket's ESG data partner. A core set of givvable credentials is included for all organisations as part of the standard platform offering. This data is updated regularly, which means new suppliers will be badged on an ongoing basis.

How Credentials Work

Credentials data is automatically applied to supplier profiles — no action is required from suppliers or buyers to activate them. Credentials appear on supplier lists throughout the Go to Market module, so buyers can identify credentialed suppliers at a glance.

Two additional credentials reflect supplier engagement history within your organisation:

  • GTM Responded — shows the number of sourcing opportunities the supplier has responded to with your organisation.
  • GTM Success — shows the number of jobs the supplier has been awarded by your organisation.

How Buyers Can Use Credentials

Credentials are visible directly on supplier lists, so buyers can evaluate credentials without leaving the sourcing workflow. Here are the key ways to put them to use.

Identify credentialed suppliers at a glance

Credentials appear on supplier lists in the Go to Market module. When reviewing suppliers for a sourcing opportunity, look for credentials icons on each supplier card to quickly identify which suppliers hold relevant credentials such as modern slavery compliance, environmental certifications, or indigenous business status.

Filter suppliers by Credential

Use the supplier filter in Go to Market to narrow your list to suppliers who hold a specific credential. This is useful when your organisation has a policy requirement — for example, sourcing only from suppliers with an active modern slavery statement or an environmental management certification.

Support values-aligned sourcing decisions

Credentials provide independently verified data, so you can factor social and environmental credentials into sourcing decisions with confidence. This supports procurement policies around sustainability, social procurement targets, and supply chain risk management — without requiring buyers to research credentials separately.

Review supplier engagement history

The GTM Responded and GTM Success credentials show how actively a supplier has engaged with your organisation’s sourcing opportunities. Use these to gauge supplier reliability and responsiveness when selecting who to invite to a new opportunity.

Troubleshooting

Credentials are not appearing on a supplier profile

Credentials data is sourced automatically by givvable. If a credential is not showing, the supplier may not hold that credential, or the credential may not yet be verified. No manual action is available to force a credential to appear.

A credential appears incorrect or out of date

Credential data is managed by givvable. Raise a query via your Unimarket( VendorPanel) support contact, who can liaise with givvable to investigate.
