How Suppliers can Edit a Response

As a Buyer, understanding the Supplier's ability to edit their response is important for viewing accurate submission data. Suppliers can edit their response up until the closing time, regardless of whether it is in 'draft' or 'submitted' status.

DraftThe Supplier is working on their response, which is marked by a red pen and paper icon.
You will not see this response. The response is incomplete and has not been formally submitted.
SubmittedThe Supplier clicks an Edit link to change the submitted response. They must click "Withdraw and re-open response".

The response is withdrawn and returned to draft mode. You will temporarily lose access to the submitted data.
ResubmittedThe Supplier clicks the "Post to buyer" button after making edits to a withdrawn response.
The response is formally resubmitted, and you will see the updated data.

Key Notes for Buyers

  • Finality of Submissions: If a Supplier chooses to withdraw a submitted response, they must re-post it before the close time for you to receive the final submission. If they withdraw the response and do not resubmit it, you will not have access to their response.

  • Multiple Responses: A Supplier can submit multiple responses to a single request. If they click the green pen and paper icon after an initial submission, they are creating a new, separate response, not editing the original.
