Update the Recommended Minimum Number of Suppliers on a Request

This article explains how to set the recommended minimum number of Suppliers that Buyers in a Local Group should select when creating an Request. This setting is useful when you want to encourage Buyers to include a certain number of potential suppliers in their Request process.

Prerequisites

To perform this task, you must have the Super Admin or Local Group Administrator role.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Local Groups and Users settings.

  • Click Admin Tools in the top menu bar or on the homepage's left-side menu.

  • Select Local Groups and Users.

    2. Open the settings for the desired Local Group.

  • Against the required list, click on the three vertical dot.

  • Select Edit local group from the options.

  1. Update the minimum number of vendors.

  • Scroll to the Request Settings section.

  • Update the number field labeled 'When a buyer in this group creates an Request, what is the recommended MINIMUM NUMBER OF VENDORS the Request should be posted to?' from the default of 3 to your desired number of suppliers.

  1. Click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

Results / Validation

After saving, the new recommended minimum number of suppliers is immediately active for all Buyers in that Local Group.

Limits & Notes

  • This number is only a recommendation. If a Buyer selects fewer than the minimum number of Suppliers, they will receive a warning message, but they can still proceed and send the Request to the selected suppliers.

  • The system default for this number is 3.
