Simple Timeline Builder

The Simple Timeline Builder allows you to generate an indicative procurement timeline by specifying a single target date, based on pre-defined business rules. You can also manually adjust the dates for flexibility.

Prerequisites

This tool is primarily for Admins who need to configure the template periods.

Steps: Configure a Timeline Template

  1. Navigate to the Procurement Plan Manage Module and select Procurement Timeline under the Lists tab.

  2. Click the plus (+) button to add a new Procurement Timeline.

  3. Enter the Procurement Timeline name.

  4. Set the standard period (e.g., number of business days) that should typically exist between specific milestones for this procurement type. This supports any number of dates.

  5. Link the procurement processes that use this timeline.

Steps: Generate and Adjust a Timeline in a Procurement Plan

  1. Specify a single target date: This date serves as the anchor for the system to generate the rest of the timeline.

  2. Generate timeline: The system will calculate and display the high-level indication of expected procurement progress based on the configured business rules.

  3. Manually adjust dates: For flexibility, you can manually adjust any of the generated dates.

Results / Validation

A flexible, high-level timeline showing expected procurement progress will be generated and displayed, with the ability to manually adjust dates.

Limits & Notes

  • The generated timeline is intended to be a high-level indication of expected progress, not a strict rule.

  • Template periods must be configured by Admins and can be managed per type of procurement
